FT Youth Minister – Rotorua

The Rotorua District Presbyterian Church (RDPC) is seeking to develop and expand its youth ministries and is looking for a youth minister to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity to invest in the lives of young people and develop new ministries in Rotorua. The youth minister will be enthusiastically backed by the ministry team and leadership teams of the RDPC. This role will report to the RDPC Council and will be a key member of the Rotorua based RDPC Ministry team.

The Youth Minister will be skilled in working with young people and volunteers in an empowering, strengths-based manner, along with possessing strong communication and relational skills. The ministry will develop the existing church based youth group, and establish a new community based youth initiative in Rotorua.

The Youth Minister will help lead the RDPC as it seeks to develop youth ministry across the Rotorua area and enable the church to continue to develop its mission in the Rotorua District. It is essential that the successful applicant demonstrates interaction with others in a manner that is consistent with Christian values and a deep personal Christian faith.

St Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Katikati, is seeking a Children’s and Youth Pastor for our growing children’s ministry. Our desire is to help children and young people flourish in their faith in Jesus Christ. A key focus for us is seeing our older children transition into a youth orientated ministry over the coming years. This is a 20 – 25 hour a week position.
The successful applicant will:

  • resource, support and work alongside a team of quality volunteers to run the
  • Sunday children’s ministry
  • initiate and lead a youth group
  • work with parents and caregivers to encourage their children in their faith
  • seek ways of integrating children and young people into congregational life
